Holy crap! It’s Thanksgiving!

John Hughes made an excellent Thanksgiving movie (see above), and I was sorely tempted to post an essay on it today, but unfortunately it isn’t the next film on my John Hughes list. I’m not going to reorder the list or skip any numbers to get to it, and so instead I’m going to enjoy my turkey and take the week off.

But who am I talking to? You, of course, are doing the same thing. Who is scouring the web for film criticism and discussion on this, the day of thanks? Certainly not you. In fact, you’re seeing this on Monday or some other day, and you’ve briefly forgotten that we even HAD Thanksgiving last week, so for you this is some kind of bizarre time warp and a moment for you to think back on the holiday you just had, and the pounds you put on, and the comments from your uncle that got you so fired up that you left the dinner table to go watch the Patriots win another football game, just like they did last week and like they’ll probably do this coming week, and for what? Just to discover no new content on this blog. Me? I’d be pissed.

New post soon, not on the movie above. Happy (late) Holidays!
