Hey, local Atlanta folks!
I’m thrilled to announce that the next Hollywood Projects event is happening July 19th, when I’ll very proudly host a screening of Akira Kurosawa’s action classic, YOJIMBO!
This is a personal favorite of mine, and one of the most instantly accessible movies in Kurosawa’s catalog, so I’m super excited to be working with Tugg.com to get it on the screen in Atlanta. As usual, I’ve got the evening totally packed with cool material, including door prizes, vintage trailers, and a special raffle item that I’ll post about as we get closer to meeting our ticket threshold.
What was that? Yep, ‘threshold.’ See, as with any Tugg event, the event only happens once a certain number of seats are reserved! Not enough reservations, no movie. Our threshold is fairly low for YOJIMBO (only 51 tickets), but the tickets still have to be sold, so if you’re in the Atlanta area and want to attend, or if you’re outside the area and want to attend, or if you don’t want to attend, but just want to help get this movie up on the screen, then be sure to visit the ticket page and reserve a seat!
And you’ll definitely want a seat, because those who attend the event will get a chance to engage with an introduction and post-show Q&A by Emory University Film professor, Eddy Von Mueller! Dr. Von Mueller has published work on the samurai films of Akira Kurosawa and is a passionate fan of YOJIMBO, and so his insight is not to be missed.
Hope to see everyone there! It’s going to be one hell of a show!
